Born and raised
in Denver, Colorado, Jen Arribau has made artwork for most of her
life, exploring many art forms such as drawing, painting, bronze sculpture
and ceramics. She studied fine art and art history at The School of
the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Richmond College in Rome, Italy,
and graduated with a BFA from Metropolitan State College of Denver.
After graduating in 2001, Arribau backpacked independently from Mexico
to the tip of Central America. She settled in Panama for eight months
to teach art classes to children in the small village of Portobelo,
where she also created and exhibited her own artwork. When she returned
to Denver in 2003, she studied with master painters such as Kevin
Weckbach and Quang Ho. She began painting professionally in 2005.
Jen Arribaus
paintings have been described as contemporary and fresh something
new. Combining an abstract, often graphic design with a classic style,
Arribaus work has both a solid structure and a spontaneous feel.
Her work is rapidly gaining the attention of the art world as she
continues to create from her studio in Denver, Colorado.
